The call of the iconic pyramids had long beckoned to me, and at last, I stepped foot onto the soil of Egypt on October 24, 2026. It was a dream realized, driven by the desire to witness the "obviously beautiful pyramids" that have captured the imaginations of travelers for centuries. As my feet hit the streets of Cairo, the energy of the bustling city combined with historical whispers created an irresistible pull.

Discovery of Ancient Wonders
My first stops led me to the renowned Giza Plateau, where the Great Pyramid of Khufu stood tall against the desert skyline. The sheer size and intricate design of this ancient marvel were staggering. I wandered around, taking in the grandeur and imagining the thousands of laborers who constructed it. Each stone seemed to have its own story, waiting to be told.
In contrast, my exploration also took me to the quieter outskirts of Madīnat an Naşr and Al Fayyum. Here, the slower pace of life provided a different lens through which to appreciate Egypt. With charming scenes of daily life unfolding before me, I was reminded that the essence of a place often lies beyond its famous landmarks.

People & Moments
During my travels, I couldn’t help but notice the juxtaposition of modernity and tradition interwoven into the fabric of Egyptian life. I encountered many people who were proud of their heritage, yet I also observed the "35-year-old houses" hinting at a past that wasn't entirely forgotten. "The city is getting advanced but still very backwards," became a recurring thought as I navigated through various neighborhoods.
Amidst the liveliness of the streets, each encounter added depth to my understanding of this remarkable country. The volume of chatter around me, often filled with laughter and lively exchanges, was a surprise. The way people engaged so openly, despite the smoke lingering in the air, created a vivid tapestry of life in Egypt.
